When summer heat rises, most kids take a break. But at Annamalai Kottai, something special bloomed in May 2023.The Kanavu School of English brought a wave of fun and learning through its summer spoken English class at Kanavu Startup Village. Led by the energetic and kind-hearted Teacher Varshini, the program began on May 2nd and saw the participation of 20 enthusiastic children from the local community. These students didn’t just learn English they spoke, played, shared stories, and grew more confident with every session. What Made It Special? Unlike regular classes, this summer camp was filled with creative activities, like: Storytelling – Students narrated fun and meaningful stories, improving their vocabulary and stage confidence. Fun Games – Learning through laughter! Games encouraged teamwork, quick thinking, and English usage. “No Boil, No Oil” Snacks – A healthy approach to snacking kept the camp light and refreshing. The goal wasn’t just to teach English, but to help children express themselves freely in a supportive and joyful environment. And Teacher Varshini made sure every child felt seen, heard, and encouraged. A Small Beginning with a Big Impact This was more than just a summer camp. It was a spark of confidence, a space where young minds began believing, “Yes, I can speak in English too!” For many, it was their first step into the world of communication and what a joyful first step it was. We thank all the children, parents, and the Kanavu team for making this possible. The smiles we saw, the stories we heard, and the growth we witnessed these are the real rewards of Kanavu.
